Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and day-to-day management of data ingestion and extraction pipelines that power critical analytics and operational workflows.
  • Build and maintain scalable data ingestion and extraction pipelines using Azure Data Factory and associated Azure services.
  • Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations, validations, and extraction logic to support downstream analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Apply Tandigm’s data integration standards, patterns, and best practices to ensure maintainability, observability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing data feeds to improve reliability, timeliness, and data quality.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with business, analytics, and data governance teams to understand, classify, and document incoming data assets.
  • Identify data quality issues, anomalies, or gaps and work collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Ensure data is ingested and labeled in a manner that supports analytics, compliance, and future reuse.
  • May lead a small team of data engineers and developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and day-to-day support.
  • Balance hands-on development with people management responsibilities, including planning, prioritization, and performance coaching.
  • Promote engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, and operational excellence.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, and external partners to deliver new data feeds and enhancements.
  • Translate business and clinical requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or ETL/ELT development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory in production environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and complex query development.
  • Prior experience serving as a technical team lead or manager.
  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines from a variety of source systems (e.g., files, databases, APIs).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality and reliability.
