Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and day-to-day management of data ingestion and extraction pipelines that power critical analytics and operational workflows.
- Build and maintain scalable data ingestion and extraction pipelines using Azure Data Factory and associated Azure services.
- Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations, validations, and extraction logic to support downstream analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
- Apply Tandigm’s data integration standards, patterns, and best practices to ensure maintainability, observability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing data feeds to improve reliability, timeliness, and data quality.
Essential Functions
- Partner with business, analytics, and data governance teams to understand, classify, and document incoming data assets.
- Identify data quality issues, anomalies, or gaps and work collaboratively to resolve them.
- Ensure data is ingested and labeled in a manner that supports analytics, compliance, and future reuse.
- May lead a small team of data engineers and developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and day-to-day support.
- Balance hands-on development with people management responsibilities, including planning, prioritization, and performance coaching.
- Promote engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, and operational excellence.
- Cross-functionally collaborate with product owners, analysts, architects, and external partners to deliver new data feeds and enhancements.
- Translate business and clinical requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or ETL/ELT development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory in production environments.
- Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and complex query development.
- Prior experience serving as a technical team lead or manager.
- Experience building and supporting data pipelines from a variety of source systems (e.g., files, databases, APIs).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality and reliability.
