Manager, Data Center Operations I

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to the HPC Data Center Technicians, overall data center supervision, and routine operational plans.
• Ensures the team is fulfilling responsibilities on time and projects are progressing, as expected.
• Manage payroll, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development.
• Affords assistance with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance.
• Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the data center.
• Maintains targets typically against a monthly plan.
• Affords assistance with new construction commissioning, as necessary, documenting and reporting all problems.
• Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible data center-related experience is required.
• 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills are required.
• An exceptional understanding of network, electrical, mechanical, and building systems is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• A working knowledge of HPC computer equipment and network infrastructure is required.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
