Manager Cyber Systems Engineering 2 - Secret

About the role

Northrop Grumman's Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) team is seeking a Manager 2 Cyber Systems Engineering to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location. Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommuting working options.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of technical staff performing direct administration of Information Systems and associated classified networks
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for aspiring managers and new leaders
• Interact with internal key executives, CIDO Program Management Office, and customers on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
• Foster an environment for individual development, teamwork, effective performance management, open communication, financial management, and utilization
• Encourage high-performance habits through regular check-ins, clear expectations, and recognition of achievements
• Oversee the rollout and day-to-day enforcement of CIDO standards, policies, and procedures within the team
• Lead day-to-day execution of assigned initiatives, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
• Maintain and update tools (e.g., ticketing, project tracking) for real-time leadership visibility into work status
• Assist in prioritizing tasks based on risk, impact, and resource availability, escalating when necessary
• Identify skill gaps and coordinate relevant training or certification opportunities
• Conduct periodic compliance checks and report deviations to senior management
• Gather data for key organizational metrics (e.g., incident response time, patch compliance) and prepare routine status reports
• Support the preparation of compliance documentation required by government regulations
• Act as the primary point of contact for scheduled customer inspections, preparing artifacts and ensuring team readiness

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience OR Master's degree and 5 years of related experience OR PhD and 2 years of related experience
• Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered
• Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment
• Experience building and leading an effective and collaborative team

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
• ITIL, or Agile, or CISM, or CISSP certification
• Current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE
• Experience and familiarity with compute infrastructure (i.e., virtualization, networking, datacenter architecture, or systems administration)
• Experience with managing technical teams
• Experience implementing JSIG or RMF cybersecurity-related compliance frameworks

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
