Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

The Manager, Strategic Finance will be a key thought partner to leadership, bringing rigorous financial modeling and long-range strategic thinking to the decisions that shape Skylo’s future.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Build and own long-range financial models that forecast multi-year revenue, unit economics, and investment scenarios across Skylo’s core verticals.

  • Model strategic alternatives and simulate how key business decisions (pricing, partnerships, market entry, capacity investment) affect long-term outcomes.

  • Maintain and evolve scenario planning tools that allow leadership to pressure-test strategy under different market conditions.

  • Support ad hoc strategic work, including capital raises, M&A, and other high-impact initiatives, providing financial modeling and analytical support as needed.

  • Evaluate strategic partnership and commercial deal structures, assessing financial impact, risk, and trade-offs to support executive decision-making.

  • Build and maintain competitive landscaping frameworks and surface white-space opportunities relevant to Skylo’s growth.

  • Use AI tools to accelerate due diligence synthesis — flagging data room gaps and financial anomalies before advisor escalation.

  • Lead the development of strategic materials for the Board of Directors and investors, translating complex operational data into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, investment briefs, and strategic summaries that distill complex analysis into actionable insight.

  • Partner with FP&A on select outputs (board packages, quarterly reviews) where strategic framing is essential.

  • Build and maintain reusable AI-assisted workflows for recurring deliverables: comps, memos, landscape reports, and Board materials.

Experience

  • 5+ years in strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, FP&A or comparable analytical role.

  • Demonstrated strength in financial modeling, including building models from scratch, stress-testing assumptions, and communicating outputs clearly.

  • Experience working on special projects or cross-functional initiatives with senior stakeholders.

  • Built at least one reusable prompt workflow for a recurring finance deliverable; can describe it and the time it saved.

  • Background in satellite, aerospace, deep tech, or a technically complex industry is strongly preferred.

  • Candidates with a strong understanding of complex hardware/software systems and long development cycles will be prioritized.

  • Prior experience at a high-growth, venture-backed startup (Series A through C) is advantageous.

  • Has connected AI tools to live data sources (e.g., CRM, financial databases) to automate recurring competitive or pipeline monitoring is a strong plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • MBA from a top-tier institution is preferred, but not required for candidates with exceptional analytical track records.

Skills

  • Exceptional financial modeling skills including three-statement models, scenario analysis, DCF, and sensitivity testing, with a strong command of accounting principles.

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport at all levels.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation packages including a stock option based equity program.

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan.

  • Monthly allowances for wellness and education reimbursement.

  • A generous time off policy, holidays, and the opportunity to temporarily work abroad.

  • Once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of developing and running world’s first commercial, live direct-to-device satellite network and service.

  • Access to world-class team and talent across tech domains: software, hardware, chipsets, telecom, satellite and network virtualization.
