About the role
Join Takeda as a Manager, Core Data Product Strategy, where you will support the design, build, and adoption of enterprise Core data products and standards.
Responsibilities
- Support ownership of assigned Core product components across requirements, design, build, and release.
- Gather and document requirements from Franchise data strategy leads; translate them into user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items.
- Define and maintain schemas, mappings, and business rules in alignment with established Core standards and MDM publishes.
- Capture and validate build activities with DD&T and offshore QA teams; support release readiness and documentation.
- Produce and maintain product documentation such as product summaries, lineage views, business rule definitions, and sample queries.
- Participate in enablement activities (e.g., schema walkthroughs, office hours) and respond to franchise questions.
- Aid in franchise migrations from legacy or bespoke data assets to Core solutions.
- Manage assigned backlog items; participate in refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
- Track dependencies, risks, and delivery status for assigned workstreams.
- Participate in design reviews, standards forums, and data governance touchpoints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in data product management, data engineering, data modeling, or analytics in a matrixed environment.
- Hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling (facts/dimensions), semantic layers, and basic data quality practices.
- Familiarity with commercial pharma data domains (e.g., CRM/field activity, omnichannel interactions, HCP/HCO, affiliations, market access).
- Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks), ELT/ETL concepts, and release management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear requirements and acceptance criteria and work effectively with engineering teams.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of SQL/Spark for validation and analysis; basic Python exposure a plus.
- Exposure to BI and metrics layers (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and metric definition governance.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
