About the Role
Own the product roadmap for Smartech AI's foundational data and compute infrastructure — the real-time ingestion, streaming pipelines, and storage that connect plant historians, SCADA, and Industrial IoT sources to every Smartech product. Make the base layer reliable, scalable, and secure so platform and application teams build on trustworthy plant data.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap for ingesting real-time plant data from historians, SCADA, and IIoT sources into streaming pipelines and storage.
- Drive uptime, throughput, and latency for streaming data; establish observability and incident response for plant-critical feeds.
- Lead delivery with data and infrastructure engineering in Agile/Scrum — owning the backlog, story writing, and sprint planning.
- Ensure data quality, security, and OT/IT compliance across connected plant environments.
Key Performance Indicators
- Reliability: Data-feed / pipeline uptime, data latency vs. SLA
- Data Quality & Coverage: Plant sources onboarded, data completeness / quality
- Delivery: Sprint commitments met, roadmap milestones on time
Requirements
- Product Management: 5+ years in software product management / product ownership, including 2+ years owning a technical or platform product in an Agile/Scrum environment — backlog ownership, story writing, and sprint planning with engineering.
- Industrial Software: 2+ years in industrial / manufacturing software — Industrial IoT, MES, SCADA / historian, or plant-operations SaaS — with a demonstrated understanding of real-time plant data and operator-facing systems.
- Operations-Facing Delivery: Proven record shipping operator- or operations-facing applications — dashboards, alerting, visualization, or workflow tools built on live / streaming data.
Skills
- Technical Depth: Streaming data, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- Industrial Data: Historians, SCADA, and Industrial IoT data sources.
- Systems Thinking: Designs for scale, reliability, and cost.
- Agile Ownership: Backlog, stories, and sprint planning with engineering.
- Data Governance: Quality, security, and OT/IT compliance.
- Collaboration: Effective across infrastructure, data, and platform teams.
