About the role

Venture Global LNG is seeking a Contracts Manager for Fabrication and Assembly Contracting. This role will lead the negotiation of terms and conditions with major contractors, manage the contract administration function for Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) Fabrication and Assembly Contracting, and oversee variation management, claims, reporting, acceptance, and closeout processes for complex contracts. The position is located in Houston, TX, and reports to the OFE Contracts Director.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, redline, and negotiate complex fabrication and assembly agreements with strategic contractors in coordination with the OFE team and legal counsel.
  • Manage the contract administration function for assigned business units and lead a team of contract administration professionals.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to define contracting strategies related to risk management, controls, and taxes for OFE agreements.
  • Oversee the evaluation, negotiation, and administration of change orders, task orders, and amendments.
  • Administer new change order requests, including scope, pricing, unit rates, reimbursable costs, and schedule definition, ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
  • Support the OFE Project Team in defining strategies for claims related to quantities, back-charges, defects, warranty, and acceptance.
  • Draft strategic project notifications or official response notices in coordination with technical, commercial, and legal experts.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements for uploading contractual documents to the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform.
  • Advise the OFE Project Team on contractual questions through contract analyses and internal checklists.
  • Coordinate project acceptance and closeout in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Maintain contract documentation repositories and track progress on assigned agreements.
  • Attend internal and external management meetings, project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, cost reviews, and quality reviews.
  • Visit fabrication sites regularly during the performance of fabrication and assembly work.
  • Support additional contract administration tasks as assigned by the OFE Contracts Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in contract/subcontract management and negotiation within the LNG, power, oil and gas, industrial, or construction industries.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, redlining, negotiating, and leading commercial and contractual negotiations for complex strategic agreements.
  • Experience managing and mentoring contract management teams.
  • Strong communication skills across various disciplines, both internally and with external counterparties.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and escalate issues and risks.
  • Strong writing skills, including drafting contractual documents.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage commercially sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
