About the Role

Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop, and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes. May specialize in benchmarking, business process analysis and reengineering, change management and measurement, and/or process-driven systems requirements.

Supervises the daily activities of support staff or production team members without typically performing the work supervised. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion and coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Problem-solving is guided by policies and procedures, with oversight from management. Exercises consistent discretion and judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with functional leadership to identify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization's continuous improvement initiative.
  • Oversees the work of a team that evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement.
  • Develops and monitors the implementation of process changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivity improvement, customer satisfaction, and profitability increases.
  • Tracks progress against established goals.
  • Recommends changes that may impact floor layout, material flow, or machinery selection and use.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees, with responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination (with concurrence from HR and General Managers).

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Critical professional-related technical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or related certification.
  • Leadership skills, problem management, judgment, attention to detail, and project management skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.

Pay

Pay range (USD): $102,700.00 – $138,900.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.

Hired applicants may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
