Manager, Consumer Promotions Strategy
Our Consumer Retention Marketing team builds lasting relationships with customers from their first engagement, delivering a personalized, cross-channel experience that drives repeat usage. Within this team, the Consumer Promotions Strategy group combines data analytics and strategy to create a world-class promotional investment engine—deploying spend on discounts, affordability, and retention with precision, discipline, and measurable ROI.
About the role
As a Consumer Promotions Strategy Manager – Strategic Bets, you will craft promotional strategies that accelerate DoorDash’s 0-to-1 strategic initiatives. You will own the strategy behind campaigns that scale these new bets, continuously improving efficiency and payback through testing, experimentation, and deep analysis of customer data.
Responsibilities
- Work with complex data sets to develop strategic, analysis-driven consumer pricing and promotions plans.
- Analyze campaign results to identify performance drivers and iterate on test structures.
- Manage budget across multiple business areas and own the forecast of initiatives spanning multiple campaigns.
- Partner with Lifecycle Marketing, Campaign Operations, and Strategy & Operations teams to test and manage hundreds of consumer promotions across U.S. geographies.
- Collaborate with business partners supporting strategic bets to align on rapidly scaling business goals.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders in Retention, Product, Tech & Operations, Analytics, and Strategy teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
- 5+ years of experience in finance/management consulting, business operations, growth marketing/marketing analytics, or business analytics.
- Experience digging into large data sets, translating insights into actionable strategies, and owning performance outcomes.
- Experience leading a team, including hiring and mentoring junior members.
- Strong analytical and SQL skills; ability to build forecasting models for marketing campaigns.
- Advanced Excel skills for complex functions.
- Proven track record of driving business results via cross-channel marketing campaigns.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with segmentation tools and complex data structures and systems.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights for partners.
Pay
Base salary range for this position in the United States (including Illinois and Colorado): $142,800 – $210,000 USD. Localization applies based on work location. In addition to base salary, this role includes opportunities for equity grants.

Schedule
- Salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
- Hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g., ~6.7 hours/month at 40 hours/week; ~3.4 hours/month at 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g., ~5.8 hours/month at 40 hours/week; ~2.9 hours/month at 20 hours/week).
