About the role

The Special Olympics Center for Inclusive Health is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as a Health and Wellness Specialist. This position will support the health and wellness initiatives of athletes and coaches across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of Special Olympics athletes and coaches.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.
• Provide educational resources on nutrition, fitness, and mental health to athletes and coaches.
• Conduct health screenings and assessments to monitor the health status of athletes and coaches.
• Coordinate with local partners to provide access to healthcare services for athletes and coaches.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in public health, exercise science, health education, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in health promotion, health education, or a similar field.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and wellness best practices.
• Experience with program development and implementation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
