About the role

Direct and manage Summit Credit Union’s Loan Processing department within Business Services. Responsible for training and developing the Loan Processing team members to ensure they are accurately, consistently and efficiently preparing loan document packages that provide a best-in-class loan closing experience for our members.

Responsibilities

  • Selects loan requests for the team based on skill and difficulty.
  • Reviews loan document packages and monitors the commercial loan pipeline to ensure effective flow to lenders and members.
  • Provides training and oversight of due diligence processes.
  • Ensures compliance with closing due dates, regulatory requirements, Credit Union Policy, and safe/prudent financial institution practices.
  • Works with the VP- Business Services Credit & System Operations to ensure workflows are followed and suggests improvements when needed.
  • Responsible for writing or delegating creation of departmental procedures and ensuring full optimization of department technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a financial institution, with knowledge of commercial operations and related functions or demonstrated experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing an operational team.
  • Thorough understanding of loan policy and regulatory requirements, lending procedures, and related documentation.
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make logical decisions and carry out decisions made.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization and process skills; ability to develop and lead to accountability metrics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, required to develop strong relationships with business members and internal colleagues and team.
  • Demonstrated skills in keeping pace with and managing through change.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and intermediate knowledge of Excel.
