Manager Coding Compliance

About the role

We’re searching for a Coding Compliance Manager who thrives in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage the coding and auditing process to ensure Hospital claims are coded accurately, timely, and in compliance with coding guidelines. You’ll oversee accounts pending coding and review processes for accuracy while maintaining consistent, compliant coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees all coding staff and activities.
• Performs and manages audits and reviews of medical records to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory and coding guidelines.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives to meet hospital, departmental, and area goals and strategies.
• Documents performance improvement measures and reports success quarterly to the Director.
• Conducts NCCI Edits and Medical Audit Reviews.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (a bachelor’s degree will substitute for 4 years of experience).
• One of the following certifications:
  • CCA - Certified Coding Associate (AHIMA)
  • CCC-P - Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (AHIMA)
  • CCS - Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA)
  • CIPC - Certified Inpatient Coder (AAPC)
  • COC - Certified Outpatient Coder (AAPC)
  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder (AAPC)
  • CPC-A - Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice (AAPC)
  • RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator (AHIMA)
• 7 years of experience coding inpatient and outpatient records using the most current coding systems.
