Manager, Co-brand and Strategic Partnerships
About the role
The Manager, Co‑brand and Strategic Partnerships will help drive Capital One’s new partner acquisition strategy. The role influences business development strategy for new partnerships, translates that strategy into successful identification and recruitment of partners, and supports Capital One’s overall enterprise strategy by collaborating with business lines, corporate strategy, finance, and legal departments.
Responsibilities
- Build and foster relationships with target businesses and partners.
- Perform marketplace and industry analyses to identify and evaluate opportunities.
- Develop and consolidate a tailored pitch strategy across the organization, including:
- Spearheading company research and development of insights.
- Working with teams to create a point of view around the partnership proposal and consumer value proposition.
- Managing internal and external teams, preparing strategies and materials for each RFP round, and delivering written and verbal presentations.
- Assist with transitioning newly‑won business from the business development team to vertical business units.
- Develop presentation materials that summarize strategic and financial analysis and key takeaways for opportunities.
- Write and deliver communications to executive audiences.
Ideal Candidate – Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated success with project management, handling multiple concurrent projects.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining analytical rigor and attention to detail.
- Interest or experience in the banking or payments industries.
- Business modelling and research expertise.
- Strong judgment and problem‑solving skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in credit‑card strategic partnerships, business analysis, or a combination thereof.
- At least 3 years of experience in project management, process management, or a combination thereof.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in credit‑card strategic partnerships, business analysis, or a combination thereof.
- 4+ years of experience leading cross‑functional projects.
Pay
McLean, VA: $164,800 – $188,100 annual base salary for a Manager, Corporate Development. Candidates hired in other locations will receive the pay range applicable to that location. This role is also eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives (LTI), discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
