Manager Clinical Nurse - NICU - Tri-City Medical Center - Days - Full time

What You Will Do

The Clinical Manager holds twenty-four hour accountability for the delivery of quality nursing care and operational management of assigned unit. The job encompasses integration, facilitation, and coordination of the leadership, management, operational, quality improvement coordination, and clinical activities of patient care services. This individual serves as a professional role model, leader, mentor, and clinical resource for nurses and other members of the health care team. Individual is responsible for supervising all department employees.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• 3 Years clinical experience in area of leadership.
• 1 Year NICU experience.
• 2 Years management experience in clinical area.
• California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing - REQUIRED
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Various-Employee provides certificate - REQUIRED
• BSN or Bachelor’s degree in related field, required. May consider candidates who enroll in a Bachelor’s program within 6 months of transfer into position, with completion of program within 2 years of enrollment, required.
• Nationally recognized certification in nursing or healthcare administration, required. RNC in leadership/administration/clinical specialty. - PREFERRED

Essential Functions

• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
• Integration, facilitation, and coordination of the leadership, management, operational, quality improvement coordination, and clinical activities of assigned patient care department.
• Serves as a professional role model, leader, mentor, and clinical resource for nurses and other members of the health care team.
• Maintains working knowledge of local health care issues, community standards as well as providers.
• Participates in strategic business planning and action implementation.
• Conducts performance assessments and evaluations of staff in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Utilizes appropriate staff disciplinary processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Manages daily nursing operations including staffing, assignments, and nurse-to-patient ratios
• Ensures charge nurse coverage on each shift
• Oversees orientation, competencies, and performance of NICU nursing staff
• Ensures compliance with CCS NICU standards, Title 22, and applicable regulations
• Collaborates with the NICU Medical Director and interdisciplinary team
• Led unit-based quality and performance improvement activities
