About the role

The Manager, Business Unit is responsible for leading, planning, and managing all activities within the assigned production business unit(s) to ensure compliance with Sustainability, Quality, Safety, and Legal standards. This role drives end-to-end KPI performance—from supplier to consumer—across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale (SQDCM) while fostering a preventive and predictive culture in alignment with Open+/IOS principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all PMI and legal standards related to Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability.
  • Promote an interdependent, transparent safety culture using preventive/predictive approaches in accordance with Open+/IOS.
  • Prevent personnel, asset, or societal loss through strong application of safety systems and behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with PMI and legal standards regarding the quality of incoming materials, semi-finished goods, and finished goods in line with QMS requirements.
  • Partner with QA and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively lead quality programs aimed at preventing incidents, reducing non-conformities, and ensuring product integrity.
  • Improve internal and external consumer satisfaction through effective use of Open+/IOS tools.
  • Guarantee adherence to production plans and maintain a high consumer service level for the assigned business unit(s).
  • Lead the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process, ensuring timely triggers and closure of corrective actions to improve KPIs.
  • Conduct end-to-end business reviews and contribute to production strategy using the Open+/IOS PDCA cycle.
  • Lead vertical start-ups of new projects, initiatives, and production line changes.
  • Drive productivity targets by eliminating losses related to uptime, DIM waste, yield, overtime, repair and maintenance (R&M), utilities, and environmental performance.
  • Ensure standardization, reapplication, and knowledge-sharing of best practices to continuously improve operations.
  • Propose and champion innovative solutions to eliminate production losses.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to build capabilities in alignment with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and Daily Management Systems.
  • Develop an autonomous, high-performing team by strengthening ownership, capability, and leadership in line with the Open+/IOS journey.
  • Foster an environment where employees are motivated to grow and contribute their full potential.
  • Ensure completion of training and development plans for self and team.
  • Serve as a Pillar Member for the assigned pillar.
  • Contribute to the annual pillar roadmap and ensure disciplined execution aligned with Open+ Phase requirements.
  • Participate in pillar reviews and ensure implementation of Standard Work Processes (AM steps, quality factors, problem-solving SWP, etc.).
  • Build team capabilities according to step-up card requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing within FMCG, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience with Integrated Work Systems (IWS), Daily Management Systems (DMS), and related tools is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of local language is an asset.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
