About the Role

Oversees a team of analysts and supervisors that prepares standard and ad-hoc reports, interprets data, and presents key trends and important findings to product line leaders, enabling them to turn insights into actionable improvements and enhanced performance. Serves as the interface between Analytics and Product Line leaders. Directly involved in action planning to improve employee engagement survey scores, team communication, and employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the analysis and reporting function for several product lines of a healthcare business office.
  • Gathers business requirements from clients, translates them into technical and business strategy for the team, directs strategy for analytical requests to provide solutions for clients, and communicates with leadership across product lines to ensure strategy alignment.
  • Performs ad-hoc reporting with high complexity and leads projects across multiple product lines.
  • Proactively works with the team to create efficiencies in data retrieval and analysis, improves the quality of information and data integrity, and ensures proper documentation of all reports.
  • Provides leadership to an analytics team consisting of 5–20 staff members, ensuring strategy, system knowledge, and other important communication is shared to aid the completion of department tasks.
  • Proactively provides coaching and guidance to team members and clients.
  • Leads not only within Analytics but within Conifer, accepting responsibilities outside of normal department functions where there is a need.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Direct Reports: Analytics Supervisor and Analyst I, II, III, & IV

Indirect Reports: Analyst I, Analyst II, Analyst III

Requirements

  • Advanced leadership skills with a proven track record of leadership experience.
  • Expert data gathering, analytical, and data visualization skills.
  • Independent, logical thinker with a strategic view of reporting offerings and proven ability to translate clients' business requirements into technical and business strategy for the team, as well as help clients define business requirements and understand data.
  • Experienced and comfortable making presentations to product line leaders, Directors, and Executive Leadership across multiple product lines.
  • Advanced ability to work well with team members and Conifer leadership, respectful of all positions at all levels, and able to complete tasks independently and professionally.
  • Advanced organizational, communication, customer service, interpersonal, time-management, mentoring, and QA skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle and multiple Conifer product lines.
  • Advanced level knowledge of relational database management systems such as AS/400, Showcase, MS Access, MS SQL Server/MySQL, and reporting systems.
  • Advanced level SQL language skills (creating/optimizing queries and stored procedures).
  • Advanced level knowledge of desktop applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • VBA, Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Intuitive ability to anticipate customer needs, help customers understand data, and assist users in defining reporting needs.

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, IS, Engineering, or 8+ years of related experience.
  • Healthcare experience.
