About the role

This role leads large, complex, high-risk strategic programs impacting Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) Finance, ensuring delivery within defined time, scope, and budget while achieving expected business or financial returns. The position oversees teams of project managers responsible for various workstreams and acts as a strategic partner to Senior Leadership in developing project approaches, providing transparency, guidance, and accountability. Additionally, the role contributes to the development of the project management practice and may include management duties such as hiring, performance management, and mentoring project managers.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic direction and oversight to teams delivering high-impact programs that support business objectives, with decisions directly influencing strategic planning and financial outcomes.
• Represents the Finance organization on large-scale projects owned by or supporting ADUSA Finance.
• Leads objectives across multiple projects and functions, establishing baseline project objectives, scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
• Engages with Senior Leadership to provide program status updates and ensure alignment with overarching ADUSA strategy.
• Challenges assumptions objectively to ensure transparency for project stakeholders.
• Analyzes impacts of change and decisions beyond immediate results, leveraging cross-functional experience to address key intersection points in end-to-end processes.
• Collaborates with Project Champions, Executive Sponsors, and project teams to define and maintain project baselines.
• Mentors and guides assigned Project Managers in methodology execution, deliverable preparation, and stakeholder alignment.
• Participates in developing project charters, obtains stakeholder approval, and manages scope changes.
• Facilitates the development of project Governance, ensuring stakeholder approval and accountability.
• Develops and maintains detailed project plans to track and report progress accurately.
• Provides agendas and meeting minutes for project teams.
• Develops and maintains actions, issue, and risk logs to track resolution and mitigation efforts.
• Creates consolidated, standardized status reports to provide transparency on progress, issues, and risks.
• Manages and maintains all project documentation on the project website.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in finance, business analysis, transformation, and project management.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience facilitating and driving meetings.
• Experience with Project/Solution Life Cycles.
• Experience delivering finance programs and requirements.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.
• Business and financial acumen.
• Strong facilitation skills.
• Project management experience (PMP Certification preferred).
• Knowledge of financial systems, with SAP experience a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• 10+ years of progressive program management experience preferred.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule with 3 in-person days at one of the core office locations (Salisbury, NC; Quincy, MA; Scarborough, ME; Carlisle, PA) and 2 remote days.

Pay

• ME/NC/PA/SC: $120,960 - $181,440
• IL/MA/MD/NY: $139,120 - $208,680
