Reporting to the Business Development Manager, Commercial Litigation, this role supports the firm’s Consumer Litigation and Government Litigation practices. The role focuses on developing and executing marketing and business development activities that advance practice priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities across the Consumer Litigation and Government Litigation practices; help coordinate outreach strategy for prospects.
- Evaluate external conferences, referral sources, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities to raise the market profile of the assigned practices, including coordination of submissions, speaker preparation, and post-event follow-up.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for cross-selling within and across the assigned practice groups.
- Support lawyers in identifying client targets, developing outreach strategies, and tracking follow-up activities tied to client development and relationship-building initiatives.
- Prepare and coordinate pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and client presentation materials tailored to regional markets and practice priorities.
- Support lateral integration, including tracking for new partners in assigned practice groups.
- Support practice group leaders and lawyers in developing and tracking practice group business development goals and plans.
- Support the wider Marketing & Business Development team on cross-practice pricing and pitching opportunities.
- Track and follow up on activities outlined in practice group and individual lawyer business development plans.
- Regularly liaise with practice group leaders and lawyers to help identify business development opportunities and determine client development needs.
- Maintain CRM, matter, experience, and pipeline data to support targeting, reporting, follow-up, and data integrity across the practice groups.
- Prepare regular reports for the Manager, Commercial Litigation and practice group leaders on marketing and business development activity, pipeline movement, client growth, budget performance, ROI, and cross-office coordination.
- Track outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of business development actions.
- Prepare and manage the full cycle of directory submissions for key legal directories, awards, and rankings, including Chambers, Legal 500, and others, to enhance the market profile of the firm and the practice group.
- Develop and maintain practice-related marketing content for the practice groups, including website updates, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and representative matters.
- Identify and capture client experience for use in marketing and business development activities.
- Lead marketing communications for the practices, including podcasts, blog posts, client advisories, social media announcements, and other profile-raising content.
- Plan and execute client-facing events, seminars, webinars, sponsorships, and related follow-up activities in collaboration with the firm’s Events team, ensuring alignment with practice priorities and client development goals.
- Collaborate closely with the wider Marketing & Business Development team, the firm’s Client Value team, lateral integration stakeholders, the Research team, and Practice Managers to support consistent policies and best practice across the practice groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in business development/marketing roles, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment, ideally in international settings; experience supporting litigation practices and related subject matter knowledge strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Concentration in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, English or similar discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with legal software solutions such as CRM, proposal generation, and experience management systems.
- Responsible use of and familiarity with GenAI systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent time management, client service, communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Growing knowledge of the legal industry and legal sector business development, with the ability to support the translation of practice group priorities into actionable business development activities.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure. Requires flexibility and adaptability in a competitive business and professional environment across time zones and multiple offices.
Schedule
- Available to work 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
- Flexibility to manage time-sensitive deadlines, check messages outside of normal working hours, and navigate high-pressure environments as needed.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $155,000. The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
