About the Organization

The Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership is a business-led, cross-sector effort to grow quality jobs and strengthen economic competitiveness and opportunity across Southeastern Pennsylvania. Launched in May 2026, the Partnership unites economic and workforce development leaders from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties around a shared, data-driven regional growth strategy to coordinate priorities, investments, and action.

Position Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership’s strategy through the proactive management of its business attraction and expansion initiatives and engagement of key investors and stakeholders in those efforts. The Manager of Business Attraction & Expansion will report directly to the Director of Business Attraction & Expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for new-to-market business investment leads by responding to RFI’s, hosting site visits and larger delegations, coordinating with local stakeholders, developing follow-up action plans, attending conferences and trade shows, and recording all interactions.
  • Develop and maintain professional business relationships with clients, brokers, consultants, and other partners regionally, nationally, and internationally through personal contact and participation in industry related events and activities.
  • Track and report on project activity including interactions with businesses, government employees, chamber members, civic leaders, and other related stakeholders.
  • Manage the execution of conferences and trade shows, including outreach to new business attraction and expansion prospects, coordinating marketing materials and social media posts, and engaging members and local stakeholders, while exploring new ideas to maximize ROI.
  • Serve as a representative of the Partnership at government, civic, and community events.
  • Cook up business attraction, expansion and retention opportunities with local stakeholders and Partnership Investors to drive engagement and improve Partnership outcomes.
  • Contribute to the Partnership's mission through information sharing and collaboration, in service of achieving the organization’s goals.
  • Complete other duties and projects assigned to support the attraction, expansion and retention of companies.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with emphasis in related area (e.g., Business Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, Economic Development, Economics, Public Administration)
  • Experience with research analysis, spreadsheets, and economic development related databases.
  • This position occasionally requires international travel; a valid passport is necessary for work authorization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related productivity and collaboration tools, including artificial intelligence tools to support efficiency and productivity
  • Preferred: Experience in economic development, commercial real estate, and business development preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Greater Philadelphia region and its business and political community and/or understanding of the region's economic landscape.

Work Environment & Travel

This position is funded by the Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership (GPGP) and supports its strategic priorities; however, employment is with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. All employment policies, practices, benefits, and conditions are administered by the Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia serves an 11-county region spanning southeastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and northern Delaware. As part of GPGP's economic growth efforts, this role will support business attraction and regional competitiveness initiatives on behalf of the Greater Philadelphia region. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the tri-state economy, key industry sectors, regional assets, and the public- and private-sector partners that contribute to the region's growth and success. This hybrid role requires a minimum of two core in-office days per week. Occasional travel throughout the 11-county Greater Philadelphia region is expected for meetings, events, partner engagement activities, and business development initiatives. Out-of-region travel will also be required.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 (commensurate with experience) annually, plus the opportunity to earn an additional performance-based bonus.
