About the role

The Manager of Biomedical Services is responsible for the overall planning, budgeting, staffing, performance, and operations of the Biomedical Services department for St. Charles Health System. This position directly supervises other caregivers and supports the vision, mission, and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs personnel management functions.
• Plans and coordinates workflow.
• Serves as a representative for all customers and brings a global perspective to the team.
• Supports system development and long-range departmental planning.
• Acts as a liaison to other hospital departments to develop purchase plans and standardize equipment across the organization.
• Oversees department practices to meet regulatory agency requirements, including Joint Commission Environment of Care for Medical Equipment standards.
• Manages department resources.
• Supports Value Improvement Practice (VIP-Lean) principles of continuous improvement.
• Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests.
• Conducts all activities with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Delivers timely, efficient, and accurate customer service and patient care.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in biomedical technology or equivalent education (Bachelor of Technology/Science preferred).
• Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements.
• AAMI eligible for certification required.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Biomedical Technician.
• Strong skills in asset management, capital equipment purchasing, and contract negotiating.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission standards, FDA regulations, other related regulatory requirements, and risk management.
• Experience with Biomedical Equipment Management System software for tracking, analysis, and report writing related to medical devices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years’ experience as a Biomedical department supervisor or higher.

Pay

Salary range: $103,958 - $155,937
