About the role
We are seeking experienced, guest-obsessed Restaurant Managers to join the opening leadership team at Canonita Lake Nona. Reporting to the General Manager, you will help lead front-of-house operations, develop the service team, and ensure every shift delivers a consistent, elevated Canonita experience.
Key responsibilities
- Support the GM in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.
- Help build and deliver training on service standards, steps of service, menu knowledge, and guest engagement.
- Aid in FOH setup: floor plans, table numbering, sidework systems, opening/closing checklists, and POS configuration.
- Act as a visible floor leader during service, managing sections, pacing, and guest flow.
- Maintain a warm, professional presence—greeting guests, resolving issues, and driving memorable experiences.
- Partner with the bar and kitchen teams to ensure accurate orders, timely delivery, and polished presentation.
- Monitor reservations, wait times, and table turns to balance high volume with a relaxed, upscale atmosphere.
- Coach and support FOH team members with real-time feedback, pre-shift meetings, and ongoing training.
- Foster a positive, inclusive culture built on teamwork, accountability, and hospitality.
- Recognize and celebrate strong performance; address performance gaps quickly and constructively.
- Ensure all FOH areas meet or exceed cleanliness, safety, and brand standards at all times.
- Enforce cash-handling, tip-share, and alcohol-service policies in line with Tavistock procedures and local laws.
- Assist with ordering and inventory for FOH supplies (smallwares, disposables, uniforms, etc.).
- Execute promotions, events, and seasonal initiatives that drive traffic and check average.
- Support the GM in managing labor during shifts—adjusting floor plans and staffing to match business levels.
- Monitor key shift-level metrics such as comps/voids, upselling, and guest feedback; identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of front-of-house leadership experience (Supervisor, AGM, Manager) in full-service, high-volume restaurants.
- Strong floor presence with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest relationships.
- Comfortable leading busy services, directing a team, and making quick decisions under pressure.
- Solid understanding of basic restaurant financial drivers (labor, COGS basics, check average, comps/voids).
- Experience opening a new restaurant or working in a lifestyle center/resort environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and coaching skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with business needs.
