About the role
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the transportation and logistics department. Work closely with other internal departments, external partners, and suppliers to ensure efficient and effective transportation and logistics processes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the transportation and logistics department's daily operations to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure customer needs are met
- Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
- Collaborate with external partners, such as carriers and suppliers, to maintain strong relationships and ensure reliable transportation services
- Monitor transportation and logistics performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Conduct regular audits of transportation and logistics processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
- Provide timely and accurate reports on transportation and logistics activities to management
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation and logistics operations
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in transportation and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation and logistics management is required
- Experience in the freight forwarding industry is preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of transportation and logistics regulations and compliance
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in transportation and logistics, such as Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP)
- Experience with transportation management software (TMS)
Pay
Expected base pay range is $100,400.00 – $150,600.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
