Job Duties

  • Advise clients on complex SOX issues from initial implementation to ongoing compliance.
  • Lead SOX compliance teams at mature public companies and build compliance programs at pre-IPO and newer companies.
  • Provide advice on risk assessment preparation, entity level controls, fraud assessment, process flow documentation, and remediation.
  • Engage in strategic advisory engagements for financial services and related industries.
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations and enhance CNM’s role as a valued advisor.
  • Develop process improvements and remediation plans for identified deficiencies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Finance or related field.
  • 5 years of work experience in closely related occupation, including:
    • Expertise in SOX Compliance: Proficient in SOX 404(a)/(b) compliance, risk assessments, control evaluations, and financial statement reviews.
    • Business Process Walkthroughs & Documentation: Conduct inquiry interviews and walkthroughs to document business processes using MS Visio.
    • Internal Control Evaluation & Optimization: Assess and test internal controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
    • Audit & Advisory Engagement Leadership: Lead audit and advisory projects, resolve technical accounting issues, and advise on control/process enhancements.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work with finance, IT, internal audit, and external auditors to ensure compliance and align teams.
    • Technology Enablement & Tools Proficiency: Utilize AuditBoard, Workiva, FloQast, Onspring, Canvas, Excel, Power BI, MSVisio, and other tools for control testing, documentation, and reporting.
    • Assess IT application and general controls, collaborate with IT team members, and assess system impacts on financial reporting and control environments.

Pay

$145,600 - $200,000/year

Schedule

40% travel to client sites within California required.
