Manager, Asset Energy Margin

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in the US and at Headquarter, including asset management, trading, portfolio management, finance, risk management and back-office teams to plan, optimize, report and deliver revenue streams.
  • Effectively communicate with senior management and other stakeholders to provide an overview of the performance of our asset portfolios.
  • Prepare the various internal cross functional committees with the different stakeholders to report the Assets Portfolio activities.
  • Manage the contracts in place between the various internal entities and their settlement.
  • Propose improvement to the operation strategy and short-to-medium term hedging strategy (optimum dispatching signals, hedgeable capacities, planned outage strategy…).
  • Agregate and communicate the most accurate capacity planning to be committed to Trading.
  • Define economical dispatching signals to dispatch the Assets
  • Implement the Risk Management guidelines validated by the Company and propose some improvements.
  • With the support of Risk Management, monitor exposures.
  • With the support of Back office and finance, monitor the financial flow and ensure the settlement are done according to the contract.
  • Propose Gross Margin assumptions for the different planification processes (BU, LTP, …) to the management, working closely with the portfolio teams.

Industry Awareness

  • Monitor FERC, ISO/RTO and state level policies that impact asset portfolio value.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the power sector.
  • Participate at industry conferences, events, and regulatory forums.
  • Share energy management expertise internally, positioning the team as a thought leader in the power value chain of TotalEnergies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (10-15 years) in energy management or a similar analytical and operational role within the energy sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of power assets operations (CCGT, Renewables….) market rules (e.g., LMP, capacity markets), and grid physics.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, EMS, trading platforms, and forecasting tools.
  • Demonstrated industry awareness and a track record in the power market domain.
  • Knowledge of energy industry trends as well as renewable & CCGT energy technologies, is highly desirable.
