About the role
The North Dakota region field and shop service area manager at SEC Energy is responsible for overseeing routine and call-out services, including installation, maintenance, and repair. This role ensures compliance with regulatory environmental and safety standards and manages day-to-day operations to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with regulatory environmental and safety standards.
- Manages safety of the job and surrounding area.
- Manages and supervises direct reports to ensure safe and efficient job performance.
- Handles service contracts and directs support services.
- Manages and supervises day-to-day field operations to meet customer requirements.
- Estimates and quotes jobs for customers.
- Maintains machinery, equipment, and facilities for efficient operation.
- Schedules employees for required hours and monitors overtime.
- Maintains good employee relations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions.
- Maintains efficient and economical use of materials and improves methods.
- Performs other functions as required.
- Conducts duties in an ethical manner and models ethical behavior.
- Encourages open, transparent, factual, and respectful communication.
- Ensures adherence to health, safety, environmental, and human resources requirements.
- Acts entrepreneurially to drive innovation, best practices, and efficiency.
- Establishes or sources appropriate training as needed.
- Measures and monitors progress to achieve business targets.
- Establishes, documents, maintains, trains employees on, updates, and reinforces practical, safe, and efficient work processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- Minimum of 8+ years natural gas compression industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor frames.
- Caterpillar and Ariel Certification preferred.
- Previous customer-facing management experience preferred.
- Software knowledge: SAP, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe.
- Ability to learn other software in use.
- Ability to manage field services area and lead direct reports.
- Ability to apply principles and techniques to accomplish goals.
- Ability to plan and oversee overhaul, repairs, and maintenance of engines, compressors, pumps, turbines, and motors.
- Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with customers and external parties.
- Ability to communicate and resolve issues professionally and tactfully.
- Ability to handle both internal and external problems and facilitate successful outcomes.
- Perform other functions as required to meet customer and company requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-10 years of people management experience.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Microsoft Project experience preferred.
