About the role

We are seeking a candidate to manage daily operations for Alternative Investment products. The Alternative Investment Operations team handles reconciliation, transfers (incoming, outgoing, and internal), conversions, and dividends/corporate actions. The ideal candidate will have previous talent development experience and operational knowledge, specifically in Alternatives, and will aid in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of various projects. A strong understanding of data analysis, project management, and reporting tools is essential to effectively analyze business requirements, track project status, and translate business or regulatory needs into technical requirements. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal) are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to address staff needs, engaging them and helping them be more effective and successful.
  • Conduct regular meetings with on-site and cross-site teams.
  • Drive a performance management culture, ensuring timely completion of mid-year and year-end self-evaluations and manager evaluations for all active employees.
  • Conduct vendor, regulatory, and risk oversight for all processes; review and approve management reports and checklists.
  • Support and contribute to the successful execution of projects and initiatives that align with LPL’s priorities.
  • Leverage technology to automate manual work and simplify processes, creating a scalable, flexible, and efficient infrastructure.
  • Develop risk-based mitigation approaches that may yield changes to functions and departmental requirements.
  • Understand and interpret rule modifications in an ever-changing regulatory environment, aligning them with the business needs of LPL, our advisors, and other departments.
  • Deliver exceptional client experiences through operational and service excellence, demonstrating sound business and financial management practices.
  • Develop quality service standards and processes to create a consistent service experience.
  • Manage risk through reconciliations, error rate tracking, exception review processing, and daily reporting; may include policy and procedure reviews and staff presentations.
  • Participate in and implement departmental projects, including coordinating and performing User Acceptance Testing.
  • Handle escalations from the Service Center and Advisors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in financial services operations.
  • Series 99 certification required.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with various levels throughout the organization.
  • Ability to learn multiple aspects of the financial services industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personable, reliable self-starter requiring minimal management oversight for day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to solving and preventing problems.

Preferences

  • Operational background in transfers, dividends, or Alternative Investment products.
  • Experience working with different investment vehicles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel (VBA), Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership experience (managing or team lead experience).
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • FINRA Series 7 certification preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $79,619.00 - $132,664.00. Actual base salary varies based on factors including relevant skills, prior experience, education, internal peer base salaries, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
