New Business Modeling & Assumption Setting

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Support the evaluation of IL reinsurance opportunities, including generating new business and improving existing business.
• Review information provided by clients.
• Build pricing models based on assumptions provided by lead pricing actuaries or set those assumptions.
• Run pricing model projections, analyze results, and document findings.
• Document and organize pricing models and files.
• Perform peer reviews of the modelling process.
• Lead the modeling and analysis in more complex projects such as Principal Based Reserves and Large Claims Analysis.
• Support the on-going training of analysts by leading Best Practice meetings.
• Contribute to model process improvements and cross-training of analysts.
• Handle other ad hoc requests as assigned.

  Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Mathematics, or Accounting.
  • 5+ years of actuarial employment in the life insurance/reinsurance industry.
  • FSA designation required.
  • Pricing and product development experience required.
  • Experience working with a modeling software and interpreting results.
  • Moody’s Axis experience preferred.

  Salary Information

  The base salary range for this position is $178,945 - $197,782, plus an opportunity for an annual company bonus based on a percentage of eligible pay. Only candidates selected for interview will be contacted directly.
