Manager, Accounts Receivable
About the role
This position will be responsible for managing all aspects and providing direction for members of the CBO as well as the Kindred Healthcare partnership hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements workflow improvements.
- Targets and implements relevant policies and procedures.
- Interacts with staff and resolves issues escalated by Patient Account Representatives.
- Understands and interprets insurance and Medicare explanation of benefits, knowing when and how to resubmit claims for maximum reimbursement.
- Affords assistance in identifying efficiencies related to accounts receivable management / revenue cycle management, and interfaces with financial institutions, accounting personnel and facility management to remove obstacles to a more efficient operation.
- Prepares and reports to upper management on status of efforts related to key departmental metrics.
- Ensures that month end process deadlines are met and key information is provided to AR Director in a timely manner.
- Ensures staff audits are completed and results are discussed with direct reports.
- Ensures Meditech system is working efficiently and identifies any issues related to claim data.
- Ensures Assurance billing system is up to date with current key payers and edits claims accordingly.
- Reviews and corrects Medicare claims through electronic DDE system.
- Works with Director to escalate issues as necessary for resolution of obstacles.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma; a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 6 years of experience in related field; healthcare preferred.
- 4-5 years of supervisory experience in billing operations.
- Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
