About the role
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this hands-on leader directs the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, supervising Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and future accounting staff to ensure timely, accurate transaction processing and an efficient monthly close.
Responsibilities
- Direct daily AP, AR, Payroll, General Ledger processing, treasury administration, and fixed asset accounting.
- Supervise, coach, schedule, and develop accounting staff.
- Coordinate the monthly and year-end close process and ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Review account reconciliations and resolve operational accounting issues.
- Oversee vendor payments, billing, collections, cash application, and payroll administration.
- Prepare audit schedules, tax workpapers, and financial support for external advisors.
- Maintain accounting procedures, documentation, and departmental workflows.
- Monitor operational KPIs and recommend process improvements.
- Provide backup support for all accounting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience including supervision.
- Experience managing AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger functions.
- Construction, manufacturing, or project accounting experience preferred.
