Job Summary
To examine, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures relevant to an assigned accounting area or unit such as grant or contract administration, cash disbursements and record, payroll, CAS systems, accounts payable, and general ledger. To manage and maintain existing accounting systems, including directing the activities of the accounting staff in the use of software.
Responsibilities
- Manages the accounting operations of an assigned area or unit.
- Hires, trains, mentors, and evaluates the performance of employees.
- Develops, implements, modifies, and documents record keeping and accounting systems.
- Aids in the selection, design, testing, and implementation of accounting software applications and systems.
- Presents, examines, and analyzes accounting records and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Collaborates with internal and external customers to answer questions, convey information, and resolve accounting issues.
Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree and three (3) years' accounting experience.
- Preferred: CPA, advanced degree or certification in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold.
