What You'll Do Manage and oversee a team to complete the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages. Navigate and resolve complex accounting problems across the business, providing technical guidance to cross-functional partners while balancing short-term urgency with long-term scalability. Lead high-impact process improvement and automation projects, partnering with FinTech to design and implement financial systems that reduce manual debt and increase efficiency. Own the internal control environment by performing and maintaining SOX controls, ensuring all global accounting processes are audit-ready and compliant with Uber's policies. Coach and develop a team of Senior Accountants, setting high performance bars and providing real-time feedback to help them grow through the unique challenges of a global tech environment. Collaborate across disciplines-including Tax, Payroll, and Financial Risk Management-to unblock dependencies and ensure consistent financial results across various legal entities and regions. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. 6+ years of operational accounting experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation. Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, public company audit requirements, and financial statement analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.). Preferred Qualifications CPA certification. Experience implementing or operating in a SOX effective environment. Past experience as a people manager, driving performance in a complex environment. Experience with Oracle or other large-scale ERP systems in a high-volume corporate environment. Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex problems and influence senior management decision-making. Strong systems thinking with experience in managing outsourced service providers (GBS). For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $146,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $146,000 per year - USD $162,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
