About the role
We are looking for a highly motivated Manager of Accounting to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for a strong operational accounting leader who enjoys building scalable processes and driving consistency across core accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly close for operating expenses, including review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage the Accounts Payable function including oversight of invoice processing, vendor onboarding, payment cycles, and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop the team by improving workflows and scalable processes.
- Support the rollout and optimization of the company’s new purchase order system, Zip, including related automation and process improvements across accounts payable and accrual workflows.
- Lead the accounting for payroll, including review of US and international payroll journal entries, bonus accruals, and related balance sheet reconciliations in partnership with Payroll and FP&A.
- Manage and refine the monthly accrual process across operating expenses, ensuring completeness and accuracy through close coordination with business stakeholders.
- Perform and review account-level analytics across income statement and balance sheet accounts to identify trends, variances, and potential risks.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to research accounting matters, analyze financial results, and communicate insights clearly and effectively.
- Support the successful completion of the year-end audit by preparing analyses, maintaining documentation, and partnering with external auditors.
- Identify opportunities to modernize accounting operations through process improvements, automation, and practical applications of AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability.
- Manage and develop the AP team and accounting contractor by providing coaching, process guidance, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and Procurement to ensure alignment on processes.
- Identify and communicate accounting risks, operational issues, and process gaps across areas of responsibility.
Requirements
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- 2-3 years of people management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Experience working in high-growth technology, SaaS, or infrastructure-driven environments preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Netsuite, Zip, and Expensify preferred
- Experience with FloQast, Navan, and Ramp a plus
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively while managing recurring deadlines and operational deliverables in a dynamic environment.
