About the role

The role involves supervision of service center dispatchers and ensuring equitable systems for routes, field trips, and route assignments. Responsibilities also include managing bus monitor and driver assignments, attendance, and overtime; overseeing special education routes; coordinating student counts and ridership; analyzing data; and recruiting new talent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dispatchers and ensure equitable systems for routes, field trips, and route assignments.
• Ensure timely bus substitutions, daily rollout completion, and field trip coverage.
• Manage bus monitor and driver assignments, attendance, and overtime.
• Oversee special education routes and collaborate with SPED supervisor and routing manager.
• Work with campus administration to process student discipline referrals and communicate with appropriate individuals.
• Communicate with routing teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure efficient operations.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a staff of drivers, monitors, and dispatchers.
• Ensure timely communication through the Parent Application and to campus personnel.
• Maintain open communication with all stakeholders to resolve problems and implement solutions promptly.
• Ensure employee performance by conducting disciplinary actions, investigations, addressing personnel matters, and documenting and investigating accidents.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to improve operational efficiency.
• Recruit new talent and host job fairs.
• Collaborate with leadership team to identify and retain highly qualified candidates.
• Perform duties in the absence of the director.
• Act as a content specialist and facilitator for professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with Passengers (P) and School (S) endorsements.
• 3-5 years of direct experience in transportation management or related field.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Thorough knowledge of Dallas ISD and its policies preferred.
• Knowledge of Dallas County streets and highways.
• Ability to use online mapping applications.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, and internet resources.
• Understanding of routing and extracurricular activity scheduling.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Minimum Salary: $74,996.00
