Management Trainee (Houston International Airport)

About the role

1ST GEAR! is our global Management Trainee Program—a dynamic, 12-month journey designed to fast-track you into a real leadership role at SIXT. From day one, you’ll gain hands-on experience, take on responsibility, and develop the skills needed to lead in one of the world’s most innovative mobility companies. Upon successful completion, you’ll graduate directly into a leadership position, such as managing your own downtown branch or joining a high-performing airport leadership team.

You’ll take on responsibility early, support operational goals, and contribute to team efficiency. The program provides insights into key business areas like Sales, Customer Service, Fleet Management, and Performance Management, with clear learning and performance goals. You’ll work in day-to-day operations, learning all aspects of core functions—from sales to fleet operations—while receiving training in communication, conflict resolution, sales, and problem-solving. Close collaboration with Branch Managers and Area Directors will help you develop leadership skills on the job.

Responsibilities

• Take on early responsibility to support operational goals and team efficiency.
• Gain hands-on experience in Sales, Customer Service, Fleet Management, and Performance Management.
• Work in day-to-day operations, learning all aspects of core business functions.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers and Area Directors to develop leadership skills.
• Participate in training for communication, conflict resolution, sales, and problem-solving.
• Travel within the U.S. as business needs dictate (up to 50% during the first year, including temporary assignments).

Requirements

• Completed bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience in Sales, Customer Service, Tourism, Hospitality, or Management.
• Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to lead—you take initiative rather than wait for instructions.
• Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Proactive attitude: work independently, solve problems, and take ownership.
• Willingness to work and travel within the U.S. (program is not fully remote).
• Valid driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
