The Role

To ensure an efficient and effective support service by providing a comprehensive confidential secretarial and administrative service across the whole range of the Management Team remit. The working pattern for this role is: Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm) OR (8am - 4pm if preferred)

  • Provide a comprehensive, high calibre secretarial and administrative service to the Management Team to support the locality business agenda.
  • Manage diary commitments and schedule meetings by liaising with a wide range of staff both internal and external to the NHS to ensure that the Management team business is progressed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence and telephone calls including prioritising of workload including distribution of mail, initiating action required and setting/noting deadlines for the return of information/replies.
  • Following up of delayed responses and self-initiating replies to ensure appropriate and timeous responses.
  • Create and maintain databases for a variety of management team information requirements including absence management and local training data.
  • Produce reports on a regular basis to inform the management team in its delivery of performance management objectives.

What You'll Bring

  • A professional qualification i.e. HNC in a relevant discipline (Business Admin/Secretarial Studies/Public Administration) or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a secretarial role
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in customer care
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational and planning skills
