This role is a true complex claims handling position tasked with managing all lines of Management Liability Claims under our Management Liability policies. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience as a claim professional with experience handling Management Liability claims, including Employment Practices Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Crime claims on a national basis.

While we prefer candidates to work from one of our IAT office locations, we are open to considering fully remote arrangements for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime) for Private and Non-Profit businesses based on Claim Guidelines.
  • Within authority limit, thoroughly analyze, investigate, negotiate, and resolve all levels of severity claims.
  • Select, direct, and manage defense counsel, including approval of budgets.
  • Develop litigation/file disposition strategy; attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
  • Verify/analyze applicable coverage for reported claims.
  • Follow operational policies and procedures, including compliance, regulatory, performance, and customer service standards.
  • Prepare reports, including Large Loss Reports, to management reflecting loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, coverage issues, claim, and recovery strategies.
  • Establish 24-hour contact and maintain appropriate contact with all involved stakeholders throughout the life of the claim file.
  • Identify and address recovery/contribution/SIU opportunities.
  • Set accurate/timely loss/expense reserves in compliance with Claim Guidelines.
  • Draft correspondence, including coverage letters to stakeholders as required.
  • Support business partners on claim and underwriting-related issues and marketing meetings.
  • Maintain resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate required.
  • Properly licensed, registered, or authorized, and in good standing, to practice law in the jurisdiction in which you will be working.
  • 3-7 years of management liability claim experience, including handling Employment Practices Liability, Directors & Officers’ Liability, and Fiduciary Liability coverages.
  • Excellent coverage analysis skills with experience in drafting coverage position correspondence.
  • Experience handling litigated files and direction of defense counsel (a plus).
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel, averaging 1 day per month.
  • Claims licensure as required by respective state(s).
  • CPCU and other insurance-related studies are beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize work.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, utilize sound judgment to draw conclusions, and make supported decisions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Schedule

This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Pay

The annual gross salary range for this role is $82,960 – $150,000. Total compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, and profit-sharing opportunities.
