Management Analyst
About the role
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team in the Eastern District of Virginia at the United States Attorney's Office performing a variety of analytical and administrative duties that support the management and operations of the Norfolk Office's Criminal Division.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative, programmatic, and operational support for programs such as the case management system, discovery, and forensics.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain the division Intranet using a variety of legal documentation.
- Collaborate with management to develop and analyze policies and standard operating procedures to ensure Division procedures and processes are effective, efficient, and productive.
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to compile data relevant to the District.
- Provide support in complex criminal litigation, including preparing court documents, pleadings, and discovery.
- Manage and produce responses to internal requests for assistance from management, other agencies, and external organizations.
- Work closely with management in coordinating, developing, evaluating, and delivering training.
- Serve as Homeland Security Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit, tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
To be qualified for the GS-12 Management Analyst, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes:
- Applying a basic foundation of administrative concepts, principles, and practices, and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative and support operations.
- Analyzing office procedures to ensure they meet organizational needs.
- Analyzing and evaluating data and information for reporting purposes.
- Communicating with management, other agencies, and external organizations to resolve issues.
- Developing and implementing operating procedures.
- Analyzing and evaluating information to create data reports.
