About the role

Responsibilities
- Researches and recommends workable solutions and management actions based on sound management principles and achievable in relation to agency policy and regulations.
- Prepares directives, memoranda, policy statements, and other written guidelines and recommendations for review by management.
- Provides administrative support to the Area Office in the absence of administrative support and/or clerical staff, as needed.
- Analyzes management information requirements to develop program or administrative reporting systems, including systems specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and systems evaluation methodology.
- Identifies and reviews data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
- May assist with planning, coordinating, and developing budget proposals for the agency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Requires a valid Driver's License.
Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Management Analyst, as described below. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform the duties of the position successfully.
To qualify for the GS-09:
- Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-07. Qualifying specialized experience includes: maintaining and tracking office budget, performing research, gathering data, preparing reports, presenting briefings, or analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations.
- Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
- A qualifying combination of education and competencies as described above.
Eligibility requirements: Applicants must meet time-in-grade (52 weeks at the next lower grade), time-after-competitive-appointment (90 days), and minimum qualifications (52 weeks equivalent to the next lower grade in federal service) within 30 days of the announcement closing date.
