Managed Payroll Specialist

About the role

The isolved Managed Payroll Specialist serves as the "Customer Advocate" and primary point of contact for assigned clients. This role involves communicating, processing, administering, troubleshooting, advising, and resolving issues related to payroll administration. The specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, advises on best practices and compliance, enhances the use of the isolved HCM system, and responds to client and employee questions via email.

Responsibilities

  • Assure client satisfaction by managing communications and resolving client cases/issues.
  • Address issues related to the isolved HCM system, payroll/HCM/timekeeping questions, and payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees via email.
  • Interpret, advise upon, and enforce payroll policies.
  • Remain current on payroll-related compliance issues, including multi-state wage and hour laws, tax-related matters, and HCM application developments.
  • Provide expertise on new or enhanced HCM applications to clients.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and employees to gather payroll data (e.g., demographics, salary adjustments, tax allocations, deductions).
  • Ensure client and employee data accuracy in the HCM system.
  • Organize, enter, and verify payroll-related data (e.g., new hires, status changes, terminations) for timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Send pre-process reports to clients for approval, if applicable.
  • Approve and submit payroll on behalf of clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  • Learn HR practices to support career growth.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with evolving technology, including software programs.
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and disruptions without compromising quality or timeliness.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized, with proficiency in payroll data, multi-state wage and hour laws, and HCM functionality.
  • Ability to work independently, analyze data, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (A.A.) in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field from a two-year college or university, plus a minimum of 2–5 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
