Managed Payroll Specialist
About the role
The isolved Managed Payroll Specialist serves as the "Customer Advocate" and primary point of contact for assigned clients. This role involves communicating, processing, administering, troubleshooting, advising, and resolving issues related to payroll administration. The specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, advises on best practices and compliance, enhances the use of the isolved HCM system, and responds to client and employee questions via email.
Responsibilities
- Assure client satisfaction by managing communications and resolving client cases/issues.
- Address issues related to:
- Effectively using the isolved HCM system.
- Answering payroll, HCM, and timekeeping-related questions.
- Responding to payroll-related questions from client contacts and employees via email.
- Interpreting, advising upon, and enforcing payroll policies.
- Remain current on:
- Payroll-related, multi-state wage and hour, tax-related, and payroll-tax compliance issues.
- The isolved HCM system and HCM application developments.
- Provide expertise on new or enhanced applications to clients.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and employees to obtain payroll data (e.g., employee demographics, salary adjustments, special payments, tax allocations, deductions).
- Ensure client information and employee data in the HCM system are accurate and up to date.
- Organize, enter, and verify all payroll-related data (e.g., new hires, status changes, termination information) for timely and accurate payroll processing with a cross-functional team.
- Send pre-process reports and related information to clients for approval, if applicable.
- Approve and submit payroll on behalf of clients.
- Maintain total confidentiality with customer information.
- Learn HR practices to support career growth.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement work culture.
- Stay current with changing technology, including software programs.
- Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills; professional and approachable demeanor.
- Strong time management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and manage disruptions without affecting service quality.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and proficient in working with payroll data, multi-state wage and hour laws, and HCM functionality.
- Able to work independently, be a self-starter, and collect/analyze data while problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree (A.A.) in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field from a two-year college or university; minimum of 2–5 years of related experience and/or training.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
