Managed Care Associate, Full Time, Day Shift

About the role

The Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center, located on our medical center campus, provides advanced cardiovascular care, bringing together expert providers, innovative treatments and compassionate support for patients across the region.

Responsibilities

• Processes managed care referrals and sends to managed care claims department.
• Checks messages for pended back referrals and corrects information as needed.
• Responds to patient and/or specialists requests for referrals.
• Communicates patient needs/information to specialist/provider offices.
• Communicates with insurance companies regarding authorization for referrals.
• Documents authorization and follow up referral information in computer and patient record as appropriate.
• Opens, processes, and distributes mail daily.
• Maintains an organized and prioritized workload and responsibility for excellent customer service and patient satisfaction.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent.
• PREFERRED: Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
• PREFERRED: Medical insurance experience.
