Responsibilities
- Imaging breast radiographs to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Patient education and data collection.
- Maintain regulatory compliance.
- Perform breast interventional procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist.
- Participate in the quality assurance program.
- Review images for diagnostic quality and proper positioning.
- Maintain the integrity of the online picture archive and radiology information system.
- Interface with customers, patients, and medical staff.
- Share information about new techniques and procedures with colleagues.
- Train new staff and student technologists.
- Maintain a safe and compliant physical work environment.
- Comply with infection control regulations.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
- Current Advanced Certification Certificate in Mammography by ARRT.
- Licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a radiographer.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Good decision-making and judgment skills.
- Able to function in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Required certification from an approved AMA program in Radiological Technology.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate good decision-making and judgment skills.
- Able to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
- CPR Certification.
