Mammography Technologist - Mammography at Rivers Edge - Part Time
About the role
The practice of mammography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Independently performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam.
Responsibilities
- Performs mammography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) “Mammography Practice Standards” and the ASRT “Code of Ethics”
- Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
- Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model.
- Assists the interpreting physician as directed when involved with diagnostic procedures in breast imaging
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program
- 3-5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist
- Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required
- Certified by ARRT in Mammography
- Ability to obtain BLS during employment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification in Mammography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
