About the role
Full-time, onsite position in Melrose Park / Bedford Park. Schedule: Monday–Friday, hours vary between 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Document the medical history of the patient prior to any examination.
- Maintain cleanliness of room, sterilize mammographic equipment, and keep adequate stock of supplies on hand.
- Carefully position patient to obtain correct imaging, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Explain imaging procedure using tact, courtesy, and poise to reduce anxiety, obtain patient cooperation, and address any questions or concerns.
- Maintain quality of mammographic equipment by following company standards and procedures; promote continuous quality improvement.
- Follow company procedural protocol and standards to produce quality mammograms.
- Evaluate and interpret captured images effectively.
- Accurately document mammogram data into the patient's chart.
- Perform all job-related functions as a Mammography Technologist according to department standards and protocols set by the radiologist, including all imaging procedures in a timely and efficient manner; communicate related information to the appropriate physician.
- Provide education, training, and direction to new technologists.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Frequent lifting/movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance; must be able to stand, stoop, lift, and walk without restrictions.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- AART Radiography certification and current ARRT registration.
- ARRT Mammography certification and current ARRT registration preferred.
- 40 hours of advanced training in an MQSA-approved program and 25 supervised exams in mammography.
- Maintain required mammography continuing education as mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
- Previous experience in a diagnostic radiology/imaging setting desired.
- IEMA Licensure.
- CPR-BLS Certification.
