About the role
The role involves performing mammography procedures in accordance with standards, policies, and organizational values.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing patient history, scheduling, and educating patients about procedures and equipment.
- Preparing and administering contrast media or medications within scope of practice.
- Aiding physicians with interventional procedures such as fine needle aspiration and localization.
- Preparing equipment, selecting imaging parameters, implementing safety standards, and performing quality control.
- Positioning patients, capturing images, analyzing results, and troubleshooting image quality issues.
- Working independently with critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certification in Mammography (M) by ARRT, or ARRT-R plus State Provisional Mammographer registration and ARRT-M within 12 months.
- BLS certification prior to start date, valid through sixty days of employment.
- Strong communication, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently are essential.
