About the Role

The Clinical Mammography Technologist performs mammography procedures on patients and processes the images for interpretation by a Physician.

Responsibilities

  • Produce consistently high-quality mammography, breast ultrasound, and related imaging activities.
  • Accurately position patients and safely administer imaging services to allow capture of clear and accurate images.
  • Demonstrate competencies in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast interventional, and bone densitometry.
  • Maintain quality control for both locations to adhere to stringent FDA guidelines.
  • Complete and record the hand hygiene logs weekly and quality and safety forms monthly for the Noblesville Bone and Breast Center.
  • Perform the EQUIP program for the MQSA guidelines by recording and tracking radiologist and technologist skill levels and performance.
  • Maintain pathology results and records appropriately to pass the annual MQSA audit. Communicate pathology results to physician offices and patients.
  • Complete information management responsibilities.
  • Organize, plan, and conduct activities relating to patient procedures in the Center to ensure smooth operation.
  • Appropriately interact with the healthcare team and deliver excellence in customer service.
  • Portray a warm, yet professional image of the Center to patients, providers, and the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of team dynamics and contribute to team building for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Exercise judgment in interpreting and applying policies and procedures to comply with state, federal, and local requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to maintain current knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in radiology and mammography or mammography eligible.
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association) certification.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or better in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT-Mammography certification (required).
  • ARRT-Radiography certification (required).
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (required).

Preferred Experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in mammography.
  • Breast ultrasound experience.
