Mammography Technologist
About the Role
As a Mammography Technologist at Menorah Medical Center, you will perform mammographic procedures by applying proper ionizing radiation coupled with accurate positioning, compression, and processing techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Explain procedures and educate patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.
- Develop and evaluate film for technical quality such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
- Assist the Radiologist with procedures as needed.
- Turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean/sterilize equipment.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited program by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Program (CAAHEP), American Medical Association (AMA), or other accrediting agency.
- Adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits every 2 years.
- Current licensure/certification/registry in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and current certification in Mammography or certification eligible (required and obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Current license from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required on hire.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of work-related experience in Mammography.
