About the role

The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that apply ionizing radiation to detect pathology in patients. Responsibilities include regulating equipment, exposing image receptors, completing paperwork and computer applications, and preparing images for radiologist interpretation. The role involves operating equipment safely, maintaining ALARA standards, and performing all procedures within the scope of practice. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with employees, departments, and medical staff.

HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is a 289-bed medical center incorporating the latest healthcare technology. The hospital holds the Gold Seal of Approval™ from the Joint Commission, is a certified primary stroke center, an accredited chest pain center, and a Comprehensive Bariatric Center of Excellence. Responsibilities

• Perform mammography procedures using ionizing radiation to detect patient pathology.
• Regulate and operate imaging equipment safely while maintaining ALARA standards.
• Complete appropriate paperwork and computer applications for patient records.
• Prepare and organize images for radiologist interpretation.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, departments, and medical staff.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date).
• ARRT-M (Mammography) certification.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• High School Graduate / GED.
• 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer.
• No travel required.
