About the role
HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking a Florida-licensed Mammography Technician to perform routine preventative and diagnostic mammographic procedures including stereotactic, ABBI and breast needle localization procedures. This is a PRN/per diem/as-needed role.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography/radiology studies in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner, obtaining high-quality images ready for interpretation
- Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
- Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with necessary supplies
Requirements
- Graduate of a 24-month program at an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or an Associate Degree
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as Mammography Technician
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Certified in mammography: ARRT (M)
- Current ARRT certification in mammography: ARRT (M)
- Vocational/technical education
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to mammography
- Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Qualifications
