Mammography Technician II - PRN - Conroe/League Line

About the role

Mammography Technician II positions are available at Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group. The position offers flexible scheduling with the option to be on-call.

Responsibilities

• Performs mammograms for both diagnostic and screening purposes
• Performs biopsies and bone density exams
• Assists with diagnostic and interventional breast procedures
• Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members
• Identifies and responds to patient needs to optimize care, image quality, and patient experience
• Ensures proper sterile techniques and maintains equipment quality control
• Reports near misses and errors to the hospital patient safety reporting system
• Engages in teaching and learning opportunities for students and colleagues
• Participates in special projects and department initiatives

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved education program for a Mammography Technologist
• Three years of experience as a Mammography Technologist
• Required licenses and certifications: CMRT, ARRT-R, ARRT-M, BLS

• Demonstrates skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job
• Sufficient proficiency in English for patient and staff interactions
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound judgment and clinical skills
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with multiple systems
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of surgical technologist experience
• Required licenses and certifications: BLS
